Mudbrick Vineyard Celebrates Prestigious Win at the National Wine Awards of Aotearoa 2023

Mudbrick Vineyard on Waiheke Island, renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation, proudly announces its monumental win at the National Wine Awards of Aotearoa. The vineyard has been awarded the prestigious Trophy for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Blends category for its flagship wine Velvet 2022, solidifying its position as a leading producer of exceptional wines in New Zealand.

The esteemed event, hosted at the Hilton, gathered prominent industry figures and wine connoisseurs from across the nation. Mudbrick Vineyard’s outstanding Velvet 2022 captivated the judges with its distinct character, complexity, and exquisite craftsmanship, earning the well-deserved recognition at this esteemed platform.

The Mudbrick Velvet 2022 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot which was had harvested, naturally fermented and aged in French oak barriques. Velvet is only made in vintages where quality is exceptional.

Expressing his elation, Mudbrick’s Winemaker, Patrick Newton, remarked, “This accolade is a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication to producing wines of exceptional quality.
