Situated on idyllic Onetangi Road, Waiheke Island, Saratoga Estate provides a venue to all people, whether you are here to sample some of the region renowned Bordeaux style reds or wanting to sit down over an extended lunch in the Waiheke sunshine whilst sipping away on our Chardonnay or Rose.
Saratoga Estate is surrounded by 20 acres of their own premium wine grapes. Varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay go towards the production of premium wines through meticulous care and passionate winemaking. Our winery is highly capable of enabling the essential conditions required for this process.
2010 has also seen the release of our 2009 staight variatals, Molly's Paddock Merlot, Michael's Meadow Syrah, Michael's Meadow Syrah Reserve, Finlays Field Cabernet Franc, Cinder's Crest Cabernet Sauvignon as well as our two stickys, Daisy's Sticky Delight, and Lily's Late Harvest Rose. All beautifully structured wines ready to be enjoyed now with great pleasure!
Nikolai’s Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Waiheke Island
This wine has a distinctive aroma of passion fruit and honeysuckle, with supple notes of fennel. This wines’ bright acidity and elegant balance inspires the taste buds. Complements fresh salads and Mediterranean seafood dishes.
Sequoia Grove Rose 2010
Waiheke Island
This rose was made by the “Saignee” method. This method bleeds a portion of juice from red vats before fermentation. The grape varieties used were Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, all of which had less than one hour of skin contact. This wine displays watermelon, strawberry and spearmint aromas, supported with a lingering acidity that complements a salmon salad or spicy pasta dish.
Finlay’s Field Cabernet Franc 2009

This wine is 100% Cabernet Franc and it exhibits earthy characteristic on the nose along with traces of pencil shavings. The palate jumps with spicy paprika and tannins that spread evenly. This wine can be married with Lamb dishes and spicy foods.
Molly’s Paddock Merlot 2009

This wine has smoky characteristic with cola nut and black cherry tones followed by a supple toasty oak finish. This wine will be great to accompany a summer BBQ or cheeses.
Monty’s Match Merlot/Syrah 2009
Waiheke Island
This blend is 50% of each Syrah and Merlot which shows an unique cinnamon character followed by supple tannins that melt in the mouth. This wine is good pared with Steak or Lamb.
Cinder’s Crest Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Waiheke Island
This wine displays coffee and smokey characteristics with tones of coconut and blackcurrant accompanied by delicate tannins. This elegant wine can be paired with smoked meats or cheeses.
Daisy’s Sticky Delight 2010
Waiheke Island
The fermentation was arrested to allow some natural sweetness in this blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This wine exhibits aromas of banana nut bread, sweet cherries and apricot and will be enjoyed with desserts and cheeses.
