Passage Rock Wines was established in 1994 by David and Veronika Evans-Gander. This boutique winery is set apart by its location and its focus on Syrah.Passage
Rock has brought home 8 gold medals and 2 trophys for its Syrah in the last 4 years.
David and Veronika's aim is to work harmoniously with the seasons the sites and the people involved in their operation to produce ripe, full bodied red wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah grapes.
The white styles have pronounced fruit flavours. These including a fruity Pinot Gris, a succulent Viognier and a Waiheke Island grown Sauvignon Blanc. The philosophy is to consistently make premium wines through careful observation and selection throughout the whole grape growing and wine making process. A strong desire to work sustainably means the Swiss integrated wine production methods are followed in the vineyard.
