The inaugural Waiheke High School Winegrowing Scholarship was presented this week to Jessica Goodier. The Waiheke Winegrowers Association (WWA) scholarship is awarded to the outstanding student from the 2008 year who has shown aptitude and ability in the study and practice of Viticulture and related Horticulture subjects. The scholarship provides financial support for the student to complete the first year of the Certificate in Wine (Correspondence) course of the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) while completing Year 13 studies at Waiheke High School. The financial support includes course fees and travel and accommodation costs for a 4-5 day residential course at EIT, Hawkes Bay. The inaugural scholarship was presented by the President of Waiheke Winegrowers, Chris Canning.
